Dear Joba Community,
When we started Joba Network, we had a bold vision: that the future of work could be more open, more collaborative, and more human - powered by technology, but centered around trust and identity. We didn’t know exactly what it would become, but we believed in building something better.
From our first integration with Request Network for contract verification and payments, to launching during Onchain Summer and minting over 10,000 profiles, we grew Joba into a platform that explored the edges of what onchain identity and borderless hiring could look like. What started as a verified resume evolved into a much bigger idea — a foundation for borderless credit, reputation, and opportunity.
As the vision expanded, so did the challenges. We came to realize that while our idea was big, our resources were still small. Building infrastructure for the future of work - especially in such a rapidly evolving space - required more time, support, and scale than we had and we were early.
At the same time, AI, identity frameworks, and digital credentialing have continued to move forward. We still deeply believe in the importance of owning your identity on the internet. But whether that needs to be a blockchain-native solution - or whether the market is ready for it - is still up for debate. Centralized solutions like the EU Digital Identity Wallet are beginning to take shape, and the ecosystem is evolving.
So, after much reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to step away from Joba Network, at least for now. We’re incredibly proud of what we built and grateful for everyone who supported us along the way — from the 25,000+ talents who signed up, to the community members who tested early features, to the partners who believed in our mission.
As we wind things down, your onchain assets remain yours. We encourage you to log in and export your Recovery Phrase or Private Key to preserve your SBTs. Visit the Export tab in your account to begin the process.
Please complete this by June 30th.
Thank you for believing in this journey - for imagining a world where people can work, earn, and build trust beyond borders. Even though this chapter is ending, the mission to empower people through identity and opportunity continues.
With gratitude,
Marisa McKnight & The Joba Network Team
